Public Hearing Call to Order
The Public Hearing to propose changes to the LRSD Rate Ordinance was called to order by President Jim Haney
at 6:00.

The hearing date and time were posted and advertised as required.
Jim Haney announced the hearing process and the intent of the hearing to consider changes to the Lakeland
Regional Sewer District Rate Ordinance.
Jeff Rowe, of Baker-Tilley, reviewed the rate study process with attendees, noting that rates have remained
unchanged for approximately 6 years, and that an increase was being recommended in order to meet
increasing maintenance costs and fulfill loan obligations. As a result of the rate study, Baker-Tilly
recommended that the LRSD Board consider an increase to the monthly rate of $8.70 to a new rate of $78.65,
effective January 1, 2023.
Public Comments
The hearing was opened for public comment. Three property owners made brief comments and asked
clarifying questions. Jeff Rowe and several board members responded to the questions and thanked the
property owners for sharing their concerns and questions.
