Rate Reduction & Elimination

RATE REDUCTION AND ELIMINATION FOR PROPERTIES THAT DO NOT PRODUCE SEWAGE

Shortly after the monthly billing began in the middle of 2015 the district was starting to receive calls from property owners asking – why do I have a sewer bill when no one has used the property in years or I tore the house down last year or I’m going to tear it down and why should I pay a sewer bill. The district reviews these claims and found them to have merit, they also, found that all measures were taken to try in avoiding these types of claims. Anyway, the district reviewed their options on this matter and adopted an ordinance for a policy concerning reduction in billing for properties that does not produce sewage. This policy relates to reduction or elimination in billing and address it in a fair and lawful manner and gives direction how to get approval for one of these polices.

RATE REDUCTION APPROVAL

In review the district found out if the property was included in the sewer project at the time of the bond/loan obligation date was signed the property owner/district would be responsible for that properties debit portion of the project of the monthly billing, If the property owner can prove to the district that the property is no longer is producing sewage, they will remove the sewer usage portion of their monthly bill. See section #7 of latest version of the ordinance referencing District’s Policy Concerning Reduction in Billing.

RATE ELIMINATION APPROVAL

In review the district found and agreed that if the property was not producing sewage prior to the bond/loan obligation date and prove it the elimination the monthly bill totally. See section #8 of latest version of the ordinance referencing District’s Policy Concerning Reduction in Billing.
